We live inside a packing of tiny cells. They pass movement to their neighbours. That handoff is what we call the speed of light. Matter is a lasting dent in the packing. Dents block the inflow. Blocking is force. Nothing pulls. The universe pushes.

The sky’s quiet glow is microwave. That glow is the packing’s working pressure, still arriving. It is not leftover light from a first day. There was no first day.

Light past the Sun is late because it ran slower, not because empty space got longer. Hotter means more pressure. More pressure means far-away light crawls. Climb from the microwave: infrared is this cycle’s jam. Colour sits behind that jam. Hard gamma is where through-going light stops.

The other way is radio, then a wave as big as the whole stack — not a wave at all, just still. If the bath goes all the way cold, the push that we call gravity shuts off. What was seated spreads. That dump reloads the packing until far-away light cannot move. Then the jam opens. We meet infrared coming down. We sit in the microwave again.

The sky’s blackbody peaks at 1.063 mm, 2.7255 K. That is not leftover light from a first moment. It is the operating pressure of the lattice, handed to us from every direction, now.

01 · the delay

Shapiro measures a speed gradient, not extra path

Light past the Sun is late because it ran slower. There is no curved emptiness here to lengthen the road. The delay is the integral of the far-frame deficit:

Half that law — hop closing, tick left alone — gives exactly half the delay. That form is falsified. Hop and tick both close, so the factor is two, derived, not inserted. The same z is the solar redshift to 0.03%.

The Sun is baryons excluding Planck-length spheres, shell by shell. The reverse-map takes the photosphere as through-going speed zero and Earth orbit as the match to c — the rung we occupy. Weak-field arithmetic on that well is a crawl: c minus 1 273 m/s at the surface, c minus 6 m/s at 1 AU. The identities, taken to cosmological depth, are the rest of this page.

Temperature, pressure, and speed are the same identities

Earth’s measured c is a rung, not the ceiling. The galaxy’s floor sits about 105 m/s above it. You always measure “c” locally because rods and ticks close together.

03 · the wall we meet

Climbing from here, the jam is infrared

FIRAS gives N = 1090. Wien puts the peak at 975 nm, near-IR, T = 2971 K, cfar = 252 m/s, depth 0.999. That is this cycle’s radiation wall. The Standard Model puts last scattering in the same band — the same Wien arithmetic, not an imported mechanism.

A loading-unity closure (baryons as obstacles, no dark matter) lands at 1571 nm, still infrared, short of red. Coming up from the microwave you stop before colour.

04 · behind the wall

Solid colour, then ultraviolet, then gamma stops it

Visible light — 750 to 380 nm — sits behind the jam. Those bands were impenetrable as a through-going signal. Nobody received a green sky. Ultraviolet is the next rung. Continue the same N and through-going light dies in gamma.

05 · the other way

Radio, then a wave the size of the stack

Down from the microwave, photons lengthen. Local c stays the local rung. Forty-four octaves down is 0.125 AU, a 62-second period. Ninety-nine octaves down, the wavelength equals the Clearing radius: one cycle per 100.7 Gyr. That is not radiation. It is static.

06 · heat death

Pressure gone, gravity off, matter expands

Take the cold direction all the way. T → 0, P → 0. Gravity is occlusion of that pressure. The push shuts off. Koppa wells flatten. Displacement volumes are no longer held. Matter expands. Seated structure breaks. That is not space stretching. The cells are still Planck-length. What spreads is what was seated.

Heat death is Law III at empty influx — not a story that movement ends.

07 · recharge

The matrix climbs until far-frame light cannot move

The dump — unseated PRESS, including the SMBH queues — reloads the relay. The ladder runs the other way: radio, microwave, infrared, the solid bands, ultraviolet, into gamma, until cfar → 0. That is not a laboratory metre reading zero. It is the wall.

c/√3 is the fluid ceiling we meet in the infrared on the way down after depinning. It is not the recharge target.

When the door opens is pending. The chain is not.

The Clearing is depinning. The bang is reiteration.

The wall opens. We meet infrared coming down. We sit in the microwave. The CMB is that boundary, still arriving. There is no first moment. There is no last one. The apple falls because the universe pushes it, and the push is this bath, this cycle.

Heat death: N → 0 ⇒ P → 0 ⇒ Law III gravity off ⇒ gravitational seats empty (not metric expansion). Recharge climbs until c_far → 0. c/√3 (FD05) is the fluid ceiling on the way down, not the recharge target. Locally measured c is never zero. c_∞ ≈ c + 105 m/s (galactic floor). R_CMB class X. FIRAS distortion < 50 ppm is the CMB gate.
