The Laws · III · Convergent Boundary Pressure

Where the Balance Breaks
and Force Is Born

The pressure of the first two Laws arrives from every side at once, and so it is silent — you feel nothing. This Law is the turn on which everything else rests: set a body in the way, spoil the balance, and the push that no longer arrives from one direction leaves its opposite unanswered — you are driven toward the body by what remains. Nothing pulls. Gravity, electricity, and the nuclear bond are one mechanism seen at three scales.

One

A pressure so even it hides

When arrival comes equally from all directions, the pushes answer one another, and nothing is left over.

The relay leaves every point steeped in convergence that is perfectly isotropic — a word meaning the same in every direction, and it matters here because sameness in every direction is exactly what makes a pressure silent. Add up the push from all sides and the vector sum is zero. A body at rest stays at rest; a body in motion holds its course. What Newton had to declare as a first law arrives here as a plain consequence of even arrival.

Yet the space is not slack. It is under enormous compression, pressed inward from everywhere at once. The stillness is not absence of pressure — it is the perfect balance of it.

Two

Occlusion — a body casts a shadow in the pressure

Stand on the seabed and you feel nothing. Set a boulder beside you, and it blocks the water pressing from that side.

The same happens in the convergent medium. A second body sits at a distance and occludes — blocks — a cone of the directions from which pressure would otherwise arrive. Occlusion is simply this shadowing of arrival. The push from the shadowed cone goes missing; the push from the opposite, unshadowed side is now unanswered. The unanswered push carries you toward the body that cast the shadow. You are not pulled. You are pushed by what remains.

Three

The one force law

Measure the shadowed cone, count the pressure it withholds, and the force writes itself.

A body of reach R₁ at distance r blocks a cone of angular size πR₁²/r² — larger when the body is big or near, vanishing when it is small or far. That withheld pressure presses on the second body's own reach, its cross-section πR₂². Multiply the deficit by the area it acts upon, and out comes the whole of it:

F = (π/4) · Peff · R₁² R₂² / r²
Theorem 4 — the universal occlusion force. Peff is the effective pressure at interaction scale; its coefficient is the calibrated piece, declared below.
drag the grey body — the shadowed cone goes missing, and the unanswered push carries you toward it

Two things fall out for free. The inverse-square falloff is not a law bolted on; it is the plain geometry of a cone's shrinking with distance in flat space — no field, no messenger particle, no action reaching across the gap. And because the formula is unchanged when the two bodies swap places, the push each feels from the other is exactly equal and opposite: Newton's third law, made a symmetry rather than a decree.

Four

One mechanism, three faces

The same formula becomes electricity, gravity, or the nuclear bond, according only to what does the shadowing.

Nothing changes but the reaches R and the effective pressure. What is usually laid at the door of electric charge is, here, occlusion at the scale of a proton and its electron — a matter of shadowed pressure and its handedness, not of any charged substance. At planetary scale the shadow is cast by whole displaced volumes; at the femtometre it is cast by vortices in direct contact.

Electric
The proton–electron pull is a push — occlusion at atomic reach. At the Bohr radius the occlusion force gives 8.23×10⁻⁸ N against a measured 8.24×10⁻⁸ N.
Gravitational
Shadowing by entire displaced volumes. Weak only because a body's cross-section is a vanishing sliver of the sky it could block.
Nuclear
Vortices meshing in contact at the femtometre — the shortest, sharpest shadow of all.

The caveat: that 0.12% electric agreement is the framework's single calibration point, not an independent triumph. It is where the one free coefficient is fixed — consistency at the anchor, which the rest of the theory must then earn elsewhere.

Standing

What is earned, and what is next

The mechanism is derived; one coefficient is calibrated. Both said plainly.

DERIVED — mechanism & inverse-square CALIBRATED — the coefficient Peff 1 ANCHOR · hydrogen

The shape of the law — occlusion, the inverse square, action equal to reaction — follows from geometry and delete-tests cleanly: strip away the comparison to Coulomb and the derivation still stands. The single coefficient that sets the absolute strength is fixed at the hydrogen anchor, and carries the CALIBRATED mark until it is derived from the medium alone.

One quiet observation opens the next Law. The very shadow a body casts on others — its gravitational weight — is the same displacement that resists being shoved. Weight and stubbornness are one geometric thing. That is why inertial and gravitational mass are equal, and it is where we go next.
