A central proton hit (b≈0) flays the unfrozen outer shells (≈100 nucleons) off the sealed T12 core (α + the tritons that do not budge, N=82 lock) — the remnant is this heavy daughter. The nucleus is not a goo drop. (A grazing hit b→R shaves a thin surface chip instead → spallation, NP27.)
